The Altamira Chamber Orchestra was formed in the summer of 2010 by violinist Robert Atchison .
The group are a unique ensemble who strive for performances of the highest calibre. with varied and
innovative repertoire. Most of the work we do is project based.

With that in mind the orchestra doesn't function in a normal way but chooses to only do speciafic projects
with artists who it feels bring something new to the field.

Recording Vivaldi's four seasons and sonnets
with Sir Michael Gambon

ACO is made up of some of the best musicians in the country. 2017 - 2018 sees the group performing
across the UK, India and the Far East, and recording three new exciting albums of which
the first is the Vivaldi Four Seasons with Sir Michael Gambon narrating the sonnets.
Future collaboration include artists such as Jyotsna Srikanth (Indian Violin) and Ballet Manila
